Mouse Flying Possible?

I know its not the ideal way to do it but can i fly using mouse and keyboard until I can afford a joystick?

I dunno I tried it once for kicks and couldn't do anything... I imagine the best you're gonna get is to be able to control a bomber.. I would venture a guess that dogfighting will be out of the question.  To get going you don't need anything really fancy, a $20 cheapo joystick should get you going and if you decide you like it, well Christmas is just around the corner and you can upgrade then.    

In the mean time I would just try to and see if you can get by with the mouse Offfline... then if you decide you can manage jump online for your two week trial.  Otherwise you could end up spending most of it just trying to get off the ground, which can't be too much fun.

It's quite possible, in fact. I flew with a mouse for maybe two months before I bought a stick. Some pilots, like Lazer for example, have gotten tremendously good at flying with a mouse. Your limitations will be lower, but for the time being you'll be fine.

Outland you can find a Saitek Evo j-stick at CompUSA or Best Buy for under $40. The stick has a twist handle for rudder input, throttle arm, 8-way view hat (easily modified to 16 views) plus a whole gaggle of input buttons. Then spend the extra $10 for a replacement service contract...the stick will probably last less than a year if you fly with any frequency. Meanwhile, save your pennies with the goal of a CH Fighterstick, throttle and peds

This game has a tough learning curve...no sense frustration yourself further trying to conquer it with a mouse.

Personally i dont think i could ever fly with a mouse, but that is probably because i am so use to the joystick...but i would not doubt it being possible to fly with a mouse, hard but possible.

Mouse flying is no longer supported and the requirements have a joystick listed. However I believe you can still fly with a mouse. I would only recommend it if you have previous mouse flying experience and were good at it. The small investment for a joystick will immensely increase the enjoyment factor and also your ability to maneuver. If your new to mouse flying and new to Aces High I'd venture to say that double team would knock you out of the game due to frustration. AH isn't easy and might be described as hard and difficult to learn. It can be but Tainers are available and this simultion is well worth the effort, time and minimal expense you need to put into it.

I just checked eBay and there are a few Saitek X45's for as low as $18.00, 3 for $20.00. I used an X45 for about 2 years. I actually liked the throttle in the 45 better than my current CH ProThrottle.

This would be a fine setup for you.

MOUSE FLYING IS POSIBLE AND ACCTUALLY FAIRLY EASY. i have been flying with a mouse for a bout a year now and since i never flown with a joystick i got used to the way the plane respones with a mouse...i got no intention of geting a joystick because i like my mouse...(and my parents wont let me..lol)

I got to admit tho the mouse is a big hard to turn with and u cant control the rudder and throttle as eassily as the ppl with a joy stick so the a6ms are a bit less manuverable

If u have a big desk with lots of room for ur mouse to move around on then u'll be fine.  I have gotten pretty good with the fw 190 A8... it was suggested to me by a fellow player DEFCON

its great for bnz but the turning is bad so u better have some speed... good luck in playiing . ill be in the h2h rooms if u want some advice for mouse flying

p.s. invert ur y axis  controls so when u move ur mouse up the plane goes up and down the plane goes dwn

Sticks are cheap. Not cheap like 100 bucks cheap but cheap like 25 or 30 bucks cheap. You can't afford that?

Previous experience is the key, regarding both the mouse flying part and the flight sim part.
You take a person fresh to both the mouse and flight sims I'd say 99.9% of the time a person who uses a joystick over a mouse will have it better.
IMO, it's better to buy a joystick right off the bat and fly off-line or  H2H free and get used to the flight model, gunnery, etc. Once you have that start paying and you'll be a step ahead in the MA, CT or any arena.
