How do you setup a DEDICATED HOST/SERVER
« on: June 07, 2003, 02:27:19 PM »
Hello guys!!

Two days ago I turned back to Aces High game which made a really good impression on me couple a months ago, when I first tried it for about a week.
Well I had to learn many things all over again, and i still have more to learn.

Yesterday I hosted for the first time (non-dedicated), and was a very good experience, the server was full - 8 players most of the time (97% of the time I would say), and all those guys that were on my server (which was called +++ IRON CROSS +++) were all very nice guys, and very helpfull, everybody had fun there for hours and hours.

Well now my question is:

How can I setup a dedicated server/host? because I see that out there are many dedicated servers and I'd like to put one up too.
So how would I go about that? Can you guys give me an example of batch file, or how exactly should i go about it??

Please I need help with this... I'm just a noob!! LOL

THANK YOU!!:)

HTC is VERY protective of his code...and rightly so. I don't think he'll just up and give you the info to set-up your own server. Be happy he lets you run 8 players in the H2H arenas he allows for free. Remember this is a business for him, not just a place to play.

If I were HTC there would be no way I would allow HTH servers for lots of business and legal reasons.

Yeah I know. I think its awesome though, since the code is not common, no one makes cheats or anything so the game stays good, not corrupt like other games.  I think it would be cool if they had a HUGE map strictly for FFA, but it could have different areas, such as a tank battle ground, a bombing range, a fighter range, boat range, and an air race area. That would rawk.
