Yea I have to agree If your gonna bring down the smack from hell.. (I always feel like hell for having do it) it has to be done at the same time as the crime is happening or right after.

My Baby Roo has gotten it for Hitting others/things w/ toys and getting mad at his puter ... followed by a time out /or nap .
So far its been working good he rarely repeats the offense .

most children only remember what they just did for a few minutes .

Most of the time He is a very well behaved little one . but I also give him alot of quality "Daddy Time"

It sounds to me like Sammy suffers from classic middle child syndrome.  To me you are taking the right path but take it a step further and find something to do with him that JUST YOU TWO do.  It helps give the boy identity.

also, I treat my kids like I treat my wife sometimes.  I eliminate all their cause for complaints and if they still want to make excuses than I know there's something else to it.

Eliminate his cause for complaint and hopfully the problem goes away.  If he IS getting attention and pulls a stunt like this again spank his but red!
