I wou;ld luv to see rotating, branching maps..Starting early war planes..And depending who(axis or allies) wins map..The next map follows a historical context and planeset...We have many great maps and linking them together would make it a great war arena.

Sirloin, that would be a great idea...kind of an ongoing TOD type thing but without the "single life"....my only negative is this a simulation not a reenactment....some of the intrique is the non historical matchups....Hog vs pony or 190 vs 109 for example...however the innovation occuring the war really creates at least 3 clear time frames....the very early1939-1941 period....the 1942-1943 era which is probably most competative...then the "late war" 1944-45...if you wanted to add the prototypes you'd have a 4th block...

Personally I'd love to see F7F in the game even though it was never deployed it was operationally deployed in april 1944. In the current arena its really almost undeployable....simply would dominate anything (even F8F)...obviously it'll be along time before we see it or Do-335...but an arena suitable for the whatifs would be great..also would love to see the airwar over spain as well on the flip side...

I'd just love to the CT tinkered with in an attempt to attract greater interest....

I'm really missing something here, Humble.

Judging by your earlier posts here, and a thread you began in the CT forum, your objection to the CT isn't to the plane sets, it's to the way people are flying.  Nothing I've seen here seems likely to change that at all.

People do tinker with the CT.  Fly there a bit more frequently, and you'll see it happen.  Some innovations work, some are abject failures, but there are always new ideas (your RPS idea, for example has occurred a number of times within one week's setup, newer models being introduced and older models withdrawn as the week progresses).

Limited plane sets, unless they are March, 1945 plane sets, have limited appeal, particularly in a two-side, Axis v. Allies arrangement.  Numbers in any arena set up in this manner will consequently be limited, no matter what you call the place.  Unless you are somehow going to restrict access to those players who share your views of how planes should be flown and combat conducted, you are bound to get people who irritate you in these qualities.  Don't see any way you can change that.

oldman....

I'll certainly continue to fly the CT...I used to fly it alot. Over the last 18 months it certainly went down hill badly from my perspective. I almost never see more than 10-15 folks in there. Down from 35+ most of the time when I flew it. If you look thru the various posts from others who have tried the CT recently it's obvious there are issues. The whole personality has changed. You dont need to keep the "restricted set" or two side format. What you need to do is create a new arena with greater appeal. Be it a GV arena or a "early war" arena or a "RPS" arena. Last night when I logged in MA was 490 something and CT was 14 I think. I bet a GV arena (maybe with ground support AC like Stuka/Il-2/A-20) would have 50-60 players.

Humble,
The the nonsense on chl 1 has died down for the most part. Shane still goes on his usual banter but thats expected and harmless. I am finding the CT becoming more passive when it comes to engaging. Some Upping in groups of 4 or 5 circling above the field to 20k and not coming down to engage unless the enemy is already engaged.

I have always seen this in the CT within the last year anyway, and low and behold saw it  this morning in the MA, with the limited number of players online.......me and ET666 nailed like 7 or 8 baddys in 1 vs 1 fights so then they would not engage unless it was 3 on 1, and them having at least 5k alt advantage..........is weird to see so many timid flyers.............how does one expect to become better if they do not force themselves to jump in the cage and duke it out?  I tryed to taunt them to go and get more alt ;)  to make sure they had enough, but then  they resulted to  Zoom Bang Bang Extend for 1/2 an hour ...LOL I ran all my fuel out and ditched and logged........

I don't mind 3 on1 and I did not complain about the 3 on 1 , to me it is good practice, but 4 would have been a lil over the top..............
