This is such a no-brainer.

No other auto can even come close to the 911 in any category when discussing the "best car ever."

Th eonly car I see coming close to beating it is the VW Bug.

Tsk tsk, Furball. Nice picture of the green Aston, but the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

As for the E-types, the one shown is I believe the namby-pamby V12 version for the gin sipping dandies. It had a top speed of 140mph. The real McCoy was the 1961 3.8 whose top speed was 150mph, thanks to the absence of all that American mandated anti-pollution crap. A later concession to the American market was the removal of the perspex headlight covers, which made the car more streamlined.

I would like one of these. (Merc SLK 320)

depends on what you want a car for.   The etype jag was a real joke when it was new... if it started it most likely would have some type of electrical problem or burn oil or not be in tune.... it was expensive to maintain and wouldn't beat a vette.

now of course.... people are all wet and gushy about em but back then used ones were a drug on the market.

porches were slow and evil handling for most people...   The cobra was ahandful  not many could or can get a lot out of them... even my chevy powered Healey is impossible for most to drive to the limit... it is about the same thing as a 427 cobra for weight/hp maybe a little more powerful but close.   I sure don't want it as my only car.

I have a late sixties muscle car... a morpidite british sports car with no frills whatsoever with a chey V8 in it and a Lincoln Town car...

I drive em all and they all have their good points.
