patch 4 film question
« on: December 03, 2004, 07:30:26 PM »
uhhh, is there some rationale for disabling the film viewer while AH2 is up and running?

i never had a problem, other than it loading slow sometimes, and very infrequently just hanging.

just wonder why this was implemented?''how about implementing an online film save feature where we can assign a film name or delete while still in game?

Shane,
I can't find the thread now but he disabled it because some guy who was using it (we're not allowed to say cheat, so I'll say...) using it to give himself an unfair advantage came into the board and suggested the tactic to another player who was asking for GV hints...

Specifically the guy said Record your GV mission for a while, then Alt tab and watch the movie and it shows you where all of the bad guys are within 6k...

Shortly after that HT posted that he would be disabling that little trick..

So thats the scoop.

Well thats no fun.

I would alt tab in order to find the name of a particular skeerd runner, or find the ID of someone who got a ditch instead of a death (meaning no ID to oct), etc.

GV dorks are crafty.

no, I meant for me... I don't camp, it bores the piss out of me.  I'd rather die 600 times in a GV fight than once in a camp...
