So i was thinking....
« on: December 04, 2004, 02:25:34 PM »
I once was a  newb.. Ya i know thats a surprise.. But it took a yr or so to get out of that stage. And though i am not a vet i would like to be one..
The best thing that helped me was knowing the planes weakness, and strengths, but for some reason i did not realy grasp the charts. It took lots of times of flying before i saw what they meant.
At one point i would dive to in a spit v, and look behind and see a p51 chasing me, and gaining an angle. It was at that time i realized that a p51 is faster on deck than a spitV.

So i was thinking of doing some simple charts that could help some newer players.

turn:
what radius that plane turns at. Enging stall turning.

acceleration: How quickly a plane can get to top speed

climb:
How fast a plane can reach a higher elevation

dive:
How good a plane can lower nose. As well as hold a good speed in dive

compression:
how well a plane can manuver at high speeds

top speed:
what speed a plane can get to flying lvl.

roll:
how easy it is to turn a plane face up and face down

The following descriptions can be used to inform them of the advantages.

worst, bad, below average, average, above average, excellent, best

I hope we can come together and make a good bit of information for the newer players..
If you got any points you want to make, please let me know.. I'm only trying to help.

Good idea.  The problem is, you'll never get this online community to ever agree on any given rating for any given performance spec for any given plane.  Before you know it, we'll be in a raging discussion about fuel octane level discrepancies, personal anecdotal accounts (eg. "I once outturned 3 spits with my 190"), conspiracy theories. . .etc

What I'd suggest is have some sort of voting system where people submit their ratings, and the final product is just the average of all of them.  I think the public perception will be pretty representative of the actual performance characteristics.  If you get enough votes,  you can certainly squelch those occasional extremist claims

Of course everything is realitive. And trying to compare each plane under every condition would be to far fetched.

Well we all know the am6 planes are best turners.

And temp or 262 are quickest on deck..

We should have a statement for what average is.. And compare all other planes to that average. Then each one should come up in its own spot.

So if we can come up with an average.

So submitt some averages> :)

You might want to check out some of Bad Boy's ECM charts he made up.  Think they're all on NetAces.org.

Here's a llama
Theres a llama
and another little llama
fuzzy llamma
funny llama
llama llama duck

Llama llama
cheesecake llama
tablet
brick
potatoe llama
llama llamma mushroom llama
Llama llama duck

I was once a treehouse
I lived in a cake
But I never saw the way
The orange slayed the rake
I was only 3 years dead
But it told a tale
And now listen little child
to the safety rail

Did you ever see a llama
Kiss a llama
on the llama
Lama's llama
Tastes of llama
Llama llama duck

Half a llama
twice a llama
Not a llama
Farmer
Llama in a car
Alarm a llama
llama llama duck

Is that how its told now?
Is it all so old?
Is it made of lemon juice
doorknob
ankle
cold
Now my song is getting thin
I've run out of luck
Time for me to retire now
And become a duck

Killer part is,
I'm not sure exactly why
Death is no easy answer
For those who wish to know
Ask those who have been before you
What fate the future holds
It ain't pretty
