Dunno bout the rest of the planes but I know in the FW 190- A8 when your oil is hit the engine shuts off after you have run out of oil just as when you run out of gas.

Oil temp never goes into the red zone and enging never blows/seizes. it just shuts down

ok Heres whats happeneing
Its seems to be switched, when your gas is hit and you run out of gas, your engine blows.

When your oil is hit and you run out of oil, the engine just dies.

Ddnt check n fuel but I know when you run out of oil the Tep guage doesnt go up or anything the engine just shuts off like you would if you ran out of fuel

Last time my oil got hit the engine ran till oil pressure runs to well below 0, didnt watch the engine temp.

I think the engine is supposed to just jam and halt when the oil is out, no overheating, overheating is only modeled for radiator hit.

That is a radiator/water temperature gauge I think.

I noticed that also in a variety of aircraft. When the oil runs out it should continue running until the temp exceeds operating range then the engine should seize. As with all reciprocating engines residual oil is still present throughout the engine after the gauge reads zero pressure, but will overheat and then cease to provide it's protection., causing the seize. So, in other words we should see the temp rise and then the seizeure of the engine.

Exactly

Either way the engine should seize and not just shut off,

They way it currently is, when my gas is hit and finally bleeds dry the engine seizes/blows

also almost every hit an A-8 takes results in engine oil - engine loss

Funny, most of the ones mine take results in flap/aileron or windsheild damage,
