DLP has yet to be perfected, as you can see a "Rainbow Effect" on the sceen. As for LCD, it's replication of Black levels is just as bad as DLP and Plasma screens. The black levels which are supposed to be "black" are "grey to dark grey".
Personally, you might at the new JVC line of LCoS, which stands for Liquid Crystal on Silicon. Rather than use one chips for all three colors (LCD, Plasma, DLP), LCoS uses a 3 chips (one for red, green and blue). These TV's have some of the best HD renderings that I have ever seen. These are in the $4000-$6000 pricepoint.
I have always enjoyed the hobby of Home Theater and have been long considering getting a Loewe Aconda 38" CRT HDTV which has the best picture I've ever seen. BUT, I am now wanting one of these JVC's.
you might even want to go to a "High End" store (not Best Buy, Circuit City).
If you need any more help, need any questions answered, please ask.
I hope this is a start for you.
