Terrible reasoning on both counts.

ALL planes currently DO have on board dar.

Almost every aspect of the  Game is already being gamed in one way or another.

I agree, I meant actual night fighters to play with, where daylight planes are disabled.  That would be cool.

I don't know about you, but I don't think upping a nice shiny P51 is really an advantage at the night.  Nothing to stop you from doing it though.

3?

it doenst work. People log in droves when it comes on. And make it so its high noon like the man said with a quick dawn and dusk transition. Not hours of the big fruit juice label in your eyes.

To answer Pongo: When I first started back on AH1, the most I saw log out at once was around 45 when Night came around. That "incrediblyhugeohmygoditkillst hegameomgomgomgomg" number isn't even enough to hinder gameplay. And it was good that those retards logged off --- more room for the pilots who are actually good.

And to answer Kweassa: You make some great skins, but... You're full of yourself. Get over it.

Glad to most everybody supports night flying. Don't really get the whole GAMMA thing, but it doesn't matter. Just want the enviroment to be as realistic as it can be. HTC has done a great job with the new arena. Make it better. Bring on the night.
For you wuss pilots that can't fly at night, we'll there always the vh.:D

I *hate* night.

Malta

p.s. The 'continuous' dawn/dusk is starting to get old.  What ever happened to a 12 hour day?

It's not that difficult is it ?

I actually used to *like* the night.. I could see/fight fine in it without playing with any gamma settings.. the icons are a real help to let you know where you are supposed to be looking for enemy planes when they are several K away.

I'd like to have a "true" night environment someday, maybe when TOD rolls around they'll have night for 3 hours a day or something to let the RAF do their night-bombing thing (Japanese did it to, as did the Russians and Germans).

How I'd do night-

1.  Keep icons for night-fighters.  Planes that had inflight radar now should keep normal icons instead.  Planes that didn't have in-flight radar should keep icons inside of 1k, that wat if they find someone they can still engage them and fight.

2.  Bombers that historically had radar jamming cal instead "jam" icons... instead of showing at 6k, they'd show at 3k or less.

3.  Obviously, introduce night fighters.  Beaufighter, P-61, 110 (C and G versions), maybe the He-219, Ju-88G.  Don't know if the Russians or Japanese had any dedicated night fighters.

For the current MA, I'd really like the dawn/dusk cycle to be lengthed, so we get more "day" and less "dawn/dusk".

I think the night is great.  Even if it is short (15-30 minutes).  That still makes for some new and challenging situations.  It adds variety.  Variety is what makes a game have a lot of replay value.  Are you master of the skies?  Now you have to work to become master of the skies at night.  Night is different.  Night is good.  Same is true for weather.  I'd love to try to land a damaged 109 in a crosswind.

If people want to turn up their gamma at night, I have no problem with that.  Do what you need to do.  However, maybe you should try it a few times at the standard gamma settings.  You might end up liking it.  If you can't see anything, try turning off some of the lights in your room.

Bring back the night!

You havent ansered anything. How many people log for not having night? O
How many logged for having night.
Tones. Maybe 45 is correct in a 300 person areana..but that is huge.
And I am not saying dont bring back the night. Im saying dont bring back that night. It didnt work. Added nothing to the game. It didnt feel like night. It felt like black sky. Thats not night.

At night. You cant see an unlit airfield from 15 miles away.
At night you cant dogfight in a ww2 aircraft. You bump into each other and then lose each other.
At night you cant fire the main armement of any tank in AH2 the sights simply do not gather any light at all. You can see nothing at all out the main sight.

people dont want night. With very very few notable  exceptions for which the technology is not in this game- at night ww2 ended.
