I don't have very strong opinions on this either, but I think it's more of a desperation maneuver than a cheap gaming tactic.  During WWII, you had mutual protection within a massive formation of bombers.  In this case, the worst thing you could've done is dive away to separate yourself from the pack.  In AH, if you see some 190s closing in on your lone bomber formation, you're more likely to just make a run for your target by pushing the nose over.   Keeping in mind that level bombing involves manning the gunner positions, calibrating your sight, and most importantly, flying the airplane,  dive bombing will  greatly increase your chances of survival by eliminating that one extra step.

I try and grab alt most of the time....sometimes i get annoyed at the vulching and or lack of friendly support and go for the cheap kill when i feel its warranted ( i.e. im in a bad mood ) if cv appears to have most guns out low level seems appropriate. we all do gamey stuff.. I try and keep it at a minimum though. Many times cons leave field and go to town to kill buildings..have to stay low or they will all chase ya.

Planes with level bombsites.

B key disabled ... except in bombsite.

ShruG

Or not.

For that matter ... disable the b key in goons that aren't in level flight.

..... or not .....

How about if your in buffs the min alt for the bomb arming is a lot more. Its around 400-600 usally, set it at 1500+. Yup they can still divebomb but they wont arm if under 1500 AGL.

Think its not just this though, its also the structural limits.
If anyone can point me to site that has a picture of lancs or b17s rolling/looping I would appreciate it, as they do it in here all the time.

Arlo I'd be ok with that with a couple of excpetions.

Ju-88 WAS used for dive bombing & has the  dive flaps for it.  Could actually set it up so that it could dive bomb & release only when the dive flaps are on even.

Level bombers without formation should still be allowed. IE TBM should be able to dive in & drop his bomb, same for iL2.

Want to limit the big heavy's to only dropping ord in bombsight, thats cool with me.

A20s, B26s and Ju88s were used in the dive-bomb roll and I have no problem with that. My problem is heavy bombers and formations dive-bombing.

Drunky is right, it's his money so he can do what he wants. That's why I hope this thread helps take that option away from him. Can't do something the game doesnt allow you too.
