Rolling Stones "Not Fade Away"

Beatles "Michelle" - I don't think they were the first to write it/perform it?

Naw Beetle, Michelle is a McCartney original. I love the recording....it sounds so "pure"....the acoustic guitars sound about as good as can be recorded imho.

That's a really good one Steve.....not many remakes can seem so clearly better than the original, other than remakes of Bob Dylan tunes.

Pretty Woman by Van Halen was alright
"My grandaddy always told me, "There are three things that'll put a good man down: Losin' a good woman, eatin' bad possum, or eatin' good possum."" - Holden McGroin

(and I still say he wasn't trying to spell possum!)

Hmm, I wasn't sure... but one of their hits from that era was not an original. If not Michelle, maybe Yesterday?

Yesterday is another McCartney song.

The Beatles did covers on some of the very early albums.

Some I know: Rollover Beethoven, Hey Hey Hey Hey ( Kansas City), Rock "n Roll Music, Twist And Shout.

OK NUKE - you're the Beatles expert; I won't argue with you. :aok

How about some remake c**k ups? The Beatles' song "With a Little Help from my Friends" was ruined - by Joe C**kup

And "Spirit in the Sky" (Norman Greenbaum) was ruined by Wet Wet Wet.

Nirvana had the highest concentration of GREAT covers in one live session and probably of any album I have heard.

Nirvana Unplugged in NY is a must have album IMHO.

Covers: The Man Who Sold The World, On A Plane, Plateau, Lake of Fire.

That Album is a great one.

Nah.

The Who's "Acid Queen" was an OK song. Then they had Tina Turner do it for the movie Tommy.

Reduced the Who (my all-time fave band) to just four skinny white kids.

The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

All along the watchtower- Jimi Hendrix.
"Willy's gone and made another,
Something like it's elder brother-
Wing tips rounded, spinner's bigger.
Unbraced tailplane ends it's figure.
One-O-nine F is it's name-
F is for futile, not for fame."
