WW1 is my genre of choice. Wings with wires, low powered fragile crates. I love my Camel, the roar of the Hispano Suiza engine, the smell of cordite, castor oil and a burning Fokker in the morning. It smells like victory!
I tried Richtofens Skies, as usual they over model the Fokker Triplane. The real DR-1 was a death trap; poorly built, grossly underpowered, and way to slow for it’s time in combat. It’s real strengths were climb, and that it was unstable in all three axis. This made it turn so fast you could shoot off your own tail

In the hands of a Master like Richtofen or Voss it was a terror. In the hands of your average pilot it was the kiss of death to it's pilot.
The main trouble with Richtofens’ Skies is lack of players. The FM is certainly fun

But Fighter Sims as a genre have a relatively tiny following compared to other types of MMOGs. And WW1 is a tiny fraction of that tiny fraction.
I think that with the limited number of players, any attempt by HTC to spend precious time and resources on a WW1 sim would probably cause their downfall. Thus I am sure that they will stay in WW2.
All in all, I will stay in AH for a long time
