Damage by 88mm guns

Question to the AH players that have been hit by 88mm AI guns.

Have you ever recieved damage other than either instant death or blown oil?

I've been hit by 88mm MANY times, and I can not recall getting wing damage, or flap damage, or landing gear, or a gun, or radiator or really anything but either the oil hit or pilot killed.

I have taken hits by 88 that did not cause system damage, but it seems that those hits always make a hole somewhere on the canopy, like I just avoided being pilot killed.

It seems that the 88s are always hitting center mass of the aircraft, rather than being more random damage being inflicted as should be expected by a timed fuse explosion somewhere near the aircraft.

I've lost parts of a plane due to 88 ack, and I've been killed sometimes by it.  I think the 88s are a little more lethal to the smaller planes due to the lack of protection around the pilot - if one goes off above you - thats pretty much it...

Bombers I've been able to take several 88 burst and still limp away. Just the manned ones that are the instant death sometimes.

I've lost many a wing, arm, aileron, leg, rudder, head, engine, etc., from 88mm puffy acks.

The other night while prowling near an enemy factory I got nailed by the puffy ack and it took off my wing.  So, I started to spiral in with the puffy acks still firing and hitting me.  I think all that was left of my plane when I impacted was just the cockpit.  88mm acks just kept on taking pieces off of my plane as I fell to the ground.

I've also lost some various parts.

The especially interesting thing was getting the windshield cracked. Boom! a flak bursts nearby, and I hear a damage sound. Pulled up the damage list but didn't see anything wrong. I think to myself "what the..?" and look around and wow, the burst cracked my the glass on my right windshield.

I've been hit by flack several times where all I received was the sound of being hit.  No damage reported by the Cntrl D screen.

seems like it's always oil/rad, insta-death or no damage.

I typically get no damage or insta-death.

In a 110 I usually catch fire though.

Maybe the damage tables are different for different planes, I dunno.

No damage, oil, engine, or insta-death (with a split-second of blood everywhere, nice touch), in a ki-84.  Very rarely I'll hear a hit sound and have no damage.

Unmanned puffy ack has been ludicrous lately.  Last night, a suicidal enemy 190 flew through our CV on the deck, chasing my seafire.  He made it through by jinking.  A minute later, I was magically killed by unmanned ack off the enemy CV 10 frickin miles away.
