Newbie Dweeb Questions
« on: August 12, 2001, 11:20:00 AM »
Ok... bear with me gents...

I just need a few questions answered...

1.  What is the range of Ack from a field ?
2.  What is the key command for drop bombs ?
3.  Does hitting a hanger with a bomb earn you points ? Or must you destroy it to get points ?
4.  If you hit the hanger but do not destroy it will you get a message on the screen that target was hit ?

Thanks for your patience and help

There are no dumb questions, only un-asked ones

1. Not sure but it depends. 88 MM which is present at large fields, naval task groups, and ports can reach higher than you can fly, but at the same time under 3000 ft will not shoot at you. Small cal stuff around bases are much shorter in range and you lnow you are in their uumbrella when it is firing at you.

2. Use the tab key to toggle bombs and then use "b" to drop. Dont forget to open doors with the "o" key first.

3. you wont get credit for destroying the hanger but your overall accuracy score is credited.

4. No sorry, but you can still use your bomb sight and "z" for zoom to analize it.

BOOT,
As stated above, the 88MM Flak will go as high as you go, but will not fire below 3 or 4k. Use the "Backspace" key to cycle secondary weapons (Bombs, Rockets, Drop tanks) then pickle with "b". You get points for dammaging a building, just not any perk points. You only get Perk points if you destroy the target. Also you will not get any dammaged messages at all in the sim, just destroyed messages.  <S> to you and I will try to work with you some this week if your on when I am.

I've got this stuff nailed  :)

Ack range:
Triple-A guns: 8,500 feet
88mm: As high as you go
Manned 5": As high as you go

You do get points for blowing up stuff, and a message will show that you've blown it up. However it won't tell you if you hit something and failed to blow it up.

Bomb drop (boob switch) is:
Backspace to select, B key to drop. F6 dumps you in bombadier position, and the numpad 0 key lets you look down into the sight.
