OK here’s the deal.

The idea is mine, not my wife’s.  Since we started dating we have been debating on whether to have two or three kids.  We have two now.  This summer we decided to make it three; my wife is due in May.  We have always used the pill as our BC.  One thing that we have both noticed is that her libido goes up a bit when she is off it.  She takes very good care of me, but I’m all for an increased (or her natural) libido.  We are guaranteed a C-section delivery.  My wife will be recovering from the surgery and we will have to abstain for awhile.  (Been there, done that, twice.)  I’m thinking of having it done after the baby is born and everyone is home safe and sound.  I’ve done a bit of online research on top this thread, such as: Planned Parenthood & alt.support.vasectomy
It does not sound that bad compared to all of the other alternatives.

Once you're sure you've sired all the kids you want, vasectomy is the closest you can get to spontaneous sex and no conception worries.  Easier than woman getting her cords cut, although that is often done right after childbirth, I think, as a sort of finale to the delivery process forever.

Heh, I forgot about what some others have mentioned ... that strange sensation when the guy's cords are actually cut.  I felt like a bass violin, as if a taut string between my big toe and the top of my head went twang and was gone -- great country song: Got a Double Twanger Banger for My Baby.

Eskimo i can confirm or at least in my case that the sexual rations increased dramatically once wife was off the pill.

Your own drive will not suffer at all.

Having it done unless the doc is pissed should be no problem.

Couple of things if its a lazer cut jobbie be prepared for the smell of burnt meat :D

Everybody hangs different but a constant so the nurses told me is one always hangs lower than the other.
So when it comes time to find the tube the docs tend to deal with the low ball first, easier to find and deal with.
So any pain is more likely with the second ball, that should give you something to look forward too :D

For me the only pain was the lazer on the second, made me jump but was over so fast it was of no consequence.

Took 3 days off work 2 days sitting on my butt doing nothing, not even getting up to answer the door well ok i did once and ached for hours after so cancelled that for a hobby.

They sent me home with a box of painkillers, never needed any.
No real swelling just black and blue.

Nurses wrapped them in a turban style dressing and slung in a jock strap for a week whilst up on my feet.

Best bit about it was trolleyed into the operating room to have 4 young RAF nurses cluster around with your bollocks dangling between your spread apart legs, whilst one of them instructs them in the fine art of painting the area with iodine.

To this day i am ashamed I could not get a hint of a woody :D

Just go to the nearest cattle ranch.  The cost is minimal... or you can DIY.

Banding tool for any size bull (300 lbs.-3000 lbs). Applies solid latex band (not tubing) around the apple for more reliable results. Heavier aluminum clip secures band to eliminate slippage. Ready-made rubber loops load quickly, reducing application time by as much as 200% over other band castrators. Painless, non-stressful to animal, without blood loss. Spring loaded indicator senses proper tightness. apple should fall off in 20 to 30 days. A tetanus toxoid injection should be given at the time of castration. Bander kit comes with 5 loops, cutter, video, carrying case.

Oh, rubber banding is not too secure.
Better squash them or cutte'm out.
(Well, I am a cattlefarmer after all)

Anyway, why doesn't your old lady just eat the pill?
Or are you scared of other possibilities, hehe :D

Okay Angus so you prefer this?

A new instrument and technique that minimizes blood loss and risk of hemorrhage through the severed cord. Utilizes twisting action which effectively closes the severed cord. Used with a standard, variable-speed electric drill (not included) – a cordless unit is best for convenience and safety. May be used on any age bull, but is an especially effective method to use on older heavier bulls (500 to 900 lbs.) where it is important to minimize the risk of blood loss, swelling, and infection. Easy-to-use and faster than many other forms of castration.
