E6B hotkey

A definable keyboard and/or joystick button allowing quick viewing of the E6B information would be great.  I use it many times a sortie and clicking through the clipboard is a tad klunky.

Thanks!

When starting the flight, press E6B, and close the clipboard. Next time you open the clipboard, the E6B is already open. It will stay open during the whole flight. So the hotkey is [ESC]. (that can be mapped also).

would be nice to JUST get ONLY the E6B pop-up instead of the whole clipboard I think is what Oct is saying. Good idea.

How about a note pad section on the clipboard you can write on and it is saved for each plane. Would only have to write a text file like plainename.txt. This would be a great place for things like Turn Speed (Vc), landing procedures, takeoff check lists. All kinds of things.

How about being able to swap in the E6B info for that frame rate/memory use info in green at the top-center of the screen instead?

Because it's faster.  Anything done in AH with a mouse = slow.

Also there's the time it takes for the clipboard to animate up and down which is an annoyance.

I'd love it if there was a hot key which would change that green text which shows memory usage/frame rate stuff to my remaining time and distance of flight, my precise alt, speed, and heading - for like 5 seconds. Yeah ... it's a crutch, I guess. But with the 2X fuel mult it's kind of needed for fuel, and with the way bombing works the flight params would be handy to have on screen like that.

One other thing to consider is that, with me at least, after using WEP the E6B resets itself.

I do find it slightly irritating that when I most want to look at E6B; after a dog-fight, it is unavailable 'cos I used Wep in the fight.; forcing me to go through the mouse click rigmarole to bring it back up .
Uh Oh there's a con.......

Mind you, current status is infinitely preferable to guesstimate required with AH1.

Darkish, I've never had that WEP issue with the E6B.  Once I click it, it's up for the whole flight and all I have to do is hit ESC to look at it.  I've now got WEP mapped to my stick, but when it was just set to P on the keyboard it still worked fine.

I was just wondering if I could map an E6B hotkey the other day.  I use it every flight, and using the mouse every time is a big pain.

E6B should not be available in fighters IMO.

It's not too hard to calculate your fuel usage and range if you know your plane. In a single seat aircraft, the pilot had to do all that stuff himself, so E6B should not be available.

In a bomber, there's a co-pilot or navigator... E6B is like him doing the calculations for you, so it should be allowed.

It is way too easy now for players to find out data that they should have to use their brains to do... How arcade do we have to go to keep players happy?

That assumes you fly one or two planes all the time, Midnight. And fly regularly. Not everyone does. I don't. I may fly 3 or 4 times a month, and any night I fly I'm using at least 3 or 4 different fighters. I don't feel like memorizing such fuel usage tables - especially when they don't exist.

OK, I'll agree DOK... Then at the very least, having to click on the button is a good compromise.

No HUD type thing should be done as suggested above though. It may take a few seconds to click on the clipboard, but no way should we have instant view or constant E6B data availble in single seat aircraft.
