Shermans in the battle of France?

They're still using the same map for the never ending battle that began in May of 1939?  No BoB?  No North Africa?  No D-day?  (Dare I even mention the eastern front? :))

So... what the subscribers are fighting, in effect, is WW1 with WW2 equipment, right?

Well atleast P40s exist.

I'v been using an Anti Tank Rifle as a sniper. No scope and a flat trajectory to 600m out. Results are the same.

so there is ground units down to infantry to be utilised?

im not interested in driving a tank or flying a poorer version of AH.

I very much would like to play at being a sniper though. i always loved Operation Flashpoint.

I'm only playing as a ground pounder. It doesn't hold a candle to AH flight sim but then again they are two different games. If you are looking for tanks and Infantry its a good time. High learning curve but if you find a squad they will show you the ropes you're good to go.

AcesHigh stopped progressing, for all intents and purposes, back in 2001.

AH 2.0 was the biggest disappointment I have ever experienced in any dale addink production.  What a absolute waste of time 2.0 was.

I've been trying it out quite a bit lately on a borrowed account and having a great time running around as german infantry.
To me it just seems that there are too many tanks compared to infantry. Almost feels like 1:1 ratio at times.
That they just added the Sherman and PzIVG, doesn't help much (not on immersion either), since the infantry is still running around with 1940 weapons.
That means that I'm usually going as a sapper to have at least some chance of taking out the enemy. Sometimes I get in a PzII or III, but infantry is really what facinates me.
The flying part there doesn't apeal to me.

A month or 2 ago between map changes, CRS run a BoB scenario for  the weekend. Destroyers were available to tall ranks, so it was pretty common to see 6 or more destroyers in a fleet going across the channel for major DD action out there. Plus all aircraft were available also, which made it fun to take a Hurri 2C and bomb/strafe enemy DD's.

I got tired of wwiiol after being there since day 1.  I subbed up here a few weeks ago and enjoy the large selection of planes.

Though it is hard to beat the ground war there. Nothing like being part of a raid of 30+ pnz( I played german),  88s, numerous inf, JU-87s, and 109s.

I spend most of my time flying the 87 pounding enemy tanks and strafing inf. Nothing more fun than flying low and slow strafing those little buggers running around like ants.
