I've seen a few videos of IL2 and i was wondering how it compares to this game? Do as many people play it, how is the realism?

isn't that the game where people who can't handle ACM go?

:D

No it's the game where people who can afford a decent computer go.

On a serious note however I liked the complex engine management thing, the flight characteristics and the eye candy, it does not however offer mmog - it has set scenario's that run like for 45 minutes then a new one loads with about 10 -12 a/c online.

PF might have more I haven't got it yet - for a box sim it's very good, was amazed when I saw my rounds ricochet off the engine armour of an Il2.

Here's an old review-type-thing I did of Forgotten Battles plus Aces Expansion Pack

PF is out and adds the Pacific theater.

Improves a lot of things and added 64 player dogfight servers that are setup various ways depending on the server. A 128 player dedicated server setup is coming sometime. Coop modes are still only 32 players.

A squaddie gave me his original copy of it. He's running the expansions now. I'm lucky, & have a beefy computer. Runs great, looks amazing. I'm buying the expansions on the way home today.

My personal preference for multiplayer is still AH, but it's an awesome game overall.

Runs very well, has great sound effects, and the graphics are quite good.

However, I have a serious problem with the ultra-light flight models... Especially the P-47.

It's more detailed than AH2 (currently), but AH2 has better flight models.

i have to disagree with that Fruda i like IL2s flight models they seem more real i say il-2 has AH outclassed in everyway sept numbers. if theyd make arenas like AH then theyd give AH a run for its money.

btw woho houston:cool: what part yall from

And don't want it wasted staring at graphics that look as if they were pulled from a sim in the mid 90's.

Speaking of reviews, AH2 has been out for a while now yet I can't find any reviews of it. Just old ones of AH1

It's on my list.

To be honest....

If I reviewed it when it first came out I would have probably given it some really rough critiques.  I decided to wait about six months to let the game flesh out a little bit.  The game is improving and I think it will be a much better product in a few months.  A slam of a game that changes significantly probably doesn't do anyone any good.

Now I will be critical of some things in the game, very critical at times but at least some of my concerns have been rectified.
