Who wants to be my bestest buddy?
« on: December 21, 2004, 01:15:50 PM »
I have tried to order an X52 from Amazon.  That was on December 8th.  It still hasn't shipped (to New york) and the Zip-X service we use to onward ship to Bermuda is so backlogged that people who ordered stuff in November are probably not going to get their goods by Christmas.

So...I need someone to Fed-Ex me a Saitek X52, like today, or tomorrow.

PLEASE??!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!

Prettty please...with sugar on top?

HELP!!!!

I'll look for one at Best Buy today, but usually I just see the X45's there.  I don't think I've seen an X52 in a retail store before.

Sorry, Curval.

Just today I  returned my *2nd* X52 to CompUSA.

I guess I've been spoiled by my Sidewinder FF 2, but the X52 proved way too imprecise for my taste.

I exchanged my first one, thinking it had to be just a bad unit. The second one was better, but still had problems and was a distant runner-up to the Sidewinder FF 2 as far as precision of movement.

It off to e-bay to for a replacement FF2, I'm afraid. And they're not going for cheap these days. I guess there's something to the fact that people are willing to pay more for a used FF2 sight unseen than a new X52 in the box.

S'Okay Sam...I've heard some bad things about it, as I did with the X45, but I really liked that.

I "have" to try it.

Curval isn't it over $100 to fed ex something as large as a hotas to Bermuda?

Sam
what didn't you like about the stick?
I had to trade my broken X45 in for a X52 yesterday and find the loose jstick harder to fly with
it has better programming options but I think the feel of it is cheezier than the X45

Yup, when I bought my X45 shipping cost more than the stick.

It's a price you have to pay unless you feel like waiting for a few months for regular mail.

I hate waiting.

Overall I wish that it performed better, because I liked most everything about it.

I'm holding out hope that there were some anomalies in the first production run that they'll iron out over time. I may try it again this summer.

The problem was that there was a slight delay, almost like a dead band, when moving it. Then it tracked unevenly as the stick was moved continuously. It was most severe in the y-axis.

I'd love to hear if you (or anybody) is really liking it.
