HTC,
Is it possible to get some kind of aircraft launched “smoke” rocket to mark ground targets with? It would make air power, in support of armor a lot more realistic.

They need to remove GV TAGS from NME aircraft to view first. When your in a GV you don't see the NME GV Tag. I think it should be the same if your in a plane. Why have trees to hide in, if you have a HUGE RED TAG screaming at an NME plane saying "Hey Down here...Here I am"

All icons should go away, including those for aircraft.

Did marker rockets exist in ww2?

No Icons should exist for planes - just not 6K away. They should gradually become red the closer they get.

Ya know.... I was just saying this in the MA a day or two ago.  I'm pretty sure they did have smoke rockets to mark targets in WWII.  Will have to look into it.

Not much so far.. but saw a blurp that said  some mossies would carry 6-12 smoke rockets for marking ground targets.  Nothing much to post here though, wish they said the name of the rocket.

Will this make smoke rockets? Is NME some kind of marking device? Can it be air launched?

I know they had White Phosphorous rockets & grenades which served the purpose of marking targets.

I think it would be cool to have a 'radioman' feature enabled (perhaps buy with vehicle perks) that allowed you to call in artillery (say for instance, 88's or 105mm's) from the most nearby base if it is in range.  Stick a few extra 88's on a base for the purpose of launching HE rounds, give a little map (similar to "Viet Cong") or a little extra cursor on the kneeboard to mark for arty and then call it in.  Each arty strike costs X number of points...make it enough (say 15-20) that you won't waste arty shells on useless or non high value targets, similiar to how it was actually done.
