If you look at the fine print on the pricewatch deal, its for a (Supports 3400), the actual processor is a  754pin 2800. Mobo is not the same either.

Not ment as a flame. Though its probably going to come off that way
Do you have personal experiance with TD?
OR are you just going by the ratings on that site.

I know one things I've discovered is alot of these sites that provide ratings about other sites arent always entirely accurate.

Consumer Reports is a classic example of that.
Although actually I am convinced CR is an outright bogus publication so that is an extreme example.

I find the best way to find out is simply to ask people I know who have dealt with a company or site.

That being said.
Do you, or does anyone here have experiance with Tiger direct? And how has that experiance been?
And if TD isnt a good site. Which ones are?
Death is no easy answer
For those who wish to know
Ask those who have been before you

I've bought stuff from Tiger Direct (directly from their outlet) but this was before the big store opening in Miami. Anyways never had any problems with them and they were quite helpful.
They were a b***h to get on the phone though, dunno if that has changed with the new store.

No personal experience, but lots of people on the deal sites such as fatwallet etc etc know all too well the hassle with tiger direct and rebates.  Newegg, Mwave,Zipzoomfly are really the only internet sites I will buy hardware from.

I have made purchases from TD in the past. It has been over a year tho. Their service and products were good. I have been making most of my recent purchases from Mwave. I have No experience with TD rebates.

I just had a friend order this deal and he pointed me in the direction. The price for the combo is very good, $96 cheaper than Mwave. I will post on here how it went for him when he gets his stuff.

Use your own judgment, roll the dice or pay an extra $96. Personally I am not buying from them at this time, but from my experiences with TD in the past, I would not hesitate to order from them in the future.

I used to buy almost exclusively from TD.  They had the best prices, biggest selections, and excellent service.  Shipping was reasonable too.  Then they decided instead of discounting, they would start doing the rebates.  Good luck.  The way they package their deals makes their pricing on the website very misleading.  For instance, on a "barebones" kit, you might have 5 separate rebates to worry about, with individual numbers that have to be recorded for each item, and all the rebates sent in separately.  They dont always make clear what you have to have, you have to find it in the FAQ.  Getting RMA's for damaged or non-functional parts can be an extreme pain.  They still have good selections of items, and still have some pretty good prices.  The customer service has gone downhill, but thats just my experience.  My parents use TD all the time, and swear by them.

I've switched almost entirely to NewEgg for all my online orders.  Prices are usually better, although most items have a little less selection on brands.  But they discount, they dont rebate.  RMA's are a breeze.  Ordering for first time customers is a bit more involved with Newegg, but in a good way I think.  They are very concerned with catching credit card fraud.  Shipping I think lags behind TD a bit, but overall I have come to prefer them to TD for most of my shopping.

The parts from the last 6 systems I've built have all come from Mwave.

Close enough in price to tiger or the other cut rate shops. Yet their customer support is much better. They get my continueing support for a reason. I've learned that I can trust them. If there is a problem a single phone call takes care of it.

Newegg also has a good rep.
