Some Muslim acquaintances of mine have told me that some Muslims in less radical Islamic countries have begun to decorate their homes during the Christmas holidays. This in no way indicates that they have adopted Christian beliefs. It simply means that they enjoy the colorful festivities and joy of the holiday.
It must be a terrible thing to live a life so fearful of how local traditions may be "perceived" by others, that these very traditions are performed only behind closed doors. Why not celebrate the diversity that we hear so many sanctimonious social reformers prattling about these days?
Im not quite sure whitch country do you consider "radical islamic" but here is site of iranian news agency
http://www.irna.ir/Picture has been created by some iranian artist, for iranian who celebrate christmas.
Just for your information, there are several thousands (100.000 i think) christians in Iran, mostly with Armenian roots. So basicaly, if you think, that Christmass are tabu in islamic countries, you should realy take your passport and take 3 months tour around ME. May be you will be impressed in little cafeteria in the middle of the desert, where you can have a cup of coffie or tie, with muslim, while owner of the shop is Jewish and young waiter is christian.
Yes im for crosscelebrating as well.. it could be rock... at February we could celebrate chinese new year. During the autunm we could celebrate ramadan and at December we could celebrate Christmass......
