Sparks tks!
Lethr,
You hit on my next page I think. The basics on custom stick mapping and keymapping. I hope to have it done this weekend as long as the aaa in the house from the other half doesn't get too bad

Currently I am at work on a 486 so I can't fire up AH to give ya a step by step on the 8way but I believe the stock setup is for a 4-way hat. You need to bring up the clipboard with esc. , then goto setup and click on the stickmapping. Once there click on the views button on the lower left side. This will show what is assigned for the views currently. Click on the hat position you want , then on the view you want for it, then click on assign key. (remember at the moment off the top of my head) I personally assigned for my hat up numpad 5 and numpad 8. This gives me up angle view for pressing the hat up. Using the numpad 5 along with the use of the hat allows for all the up angle views and the numpad 0 for all the down angle views. This will give you 20+ angles to view from. With a little practice you won't want to go back using padlock.
I will set the next help page up on our site with information and pictures showing the step by step setup of the joystick and keymapping features to make the game more user functional and hopefully let you worry less about finding the keys you use all the time and let you worry more about the guy on your six
NOTE DISCLAIMER: I am not on the AH training staff. I just want to help make it easier for the new pilot, whether a first time sim pilot or from another sim, to be able to enjoy the game and hopefully stick with us
