heres the film of that fight in DA you wanted me to post.

http://www.freeroleentertainment.com/files/film7.ahf

notice how after i work the advantage, my stick spins me as i turn.

Also notice how i have to fight to keep control in even the slightest turns.

this is the problem with cheap twisty sticks (saitek crap).

i was trying to explain how this 'wobble' messes you up when turning hard because its almost impossible to not put some rudder when you dont want it.

not excuses for the fight, you flew better this fight for sure in the end.

i really do think tho if i had seperate rudder peddals or a decent twisty stick i would have go you. :)

good fights! well flown sir

S!

thanks bat.

the "wobbling" you talking about is your left wing drop at 01:12 ?
sure looks wierd. if its cause of stick spiking try cleaning it up or something, that can really ruin a fight

jb33 helped me out with some joystick settings that helped minimize some of those quick thrashes.  it has begun to really help out alot.

you might try adjusting the sliders on your rudder in your joystick settings.

sure youve heard this, but just in case.

Have you set a deadzone on your twist?

I bought used analog CH Pro pedals and a CH FX stick.

I dont use the CH FX stick at all, but do use the pedals.

One of the great things about AcesHigh is that its easy to use 2 (or more) joysticks !

So I fly with a normall USB stick, but told AH to not read the twist but use the analog pedals in stead !

It works great ! (But only in AH, in IL I could not get this to work)

Flying the spit, one is better of disabling rudder from twist all to gether, and use keyboard (if that is possible) for rudder.

I found that I dont even use the rudder in flight when flying spits, only use it at take off and landing really.

In other planes rudder seems to be more important tho.

I dont know if this is a fact or just that the slip indicator is different on spits?

Any way, if you find some kind of rudder pedals, use that in stead of the twisty. I heard people using the pedals from a stearing wheel set.

stone you are doin something really wrong if you dont use your rudder. in any plane, i have rudder pedals and it became such a part of my flying i dont even notice i use them anymore.

i reviewed the film batfink
theres that 1 wierd glitch at 01:12 (1 minute 12secs)
and at the end of the fight when you tumble downward and write "stick"

that little tumble didnt looked like a stick problem, seems to me like a normal stall, check your airspeed, it was around 50 or so, its imposible to hold the plane at that speed.

again, was some good fights, give me a shout any time if you want to do some more :)

I had to switch from a MS Sidewinder to an X45 setup when I first started playing. Kept getting excited while getting a guns solution & hitting the rudder. It cost me alot of easy kills.

Now I'm still gonna go out & get pedals eventually. Not fond of the X45's rudder, even if it is better than twisty sticks.

Stone,

Would you mind explaining how you disabled the twist, I am having the same problem.

- In AH press ESC to get the clipboard up.
- Then press on "SETUP"
- Now on "Controlls"
- Then "Joystick" and "Select Joystick" from the right.

- In AH Controll list select "Rudder"
- Then select a joystick you want to use for rudder from the "Joystick" list.
(If you gona disable rudder then it does not matter what stick you select from the list tho.)
- Finaly select "Z axis" for the pedals if you have pedals, or "None" if you wanted to disable rudder from joystick.
THEN PRESS ON THE "SET INPUT" BUTTON !!

I am not sure if one can map keyboard to rudder tho. I thought some one sayd he did, but that might have been a different game :o

lol, i need rudder for spitfires, belive me. :)

sure, against a weaker plane you can get away with more basic loops and turns but to fight another decent plane or pilot I find i must work the rudder constantly.

disabling it is definitely not an option, but i will look at the dead band, thanks. i seem to remember trying before and losing that important light touch ability, but like this its impossible.

Flyboy, yes, i noticed as i posted, that stall at 50mph, had it been closer to 65-70 i could have blamed the stick :)

the first one was the bastad tho.

thanks for advice everyone.
