« on: December 29, 2004, 02:51:12 PM »
I got a major Sound issue:(
When i increase power to plane gv or boat it starts making a crackling static noise :( it does this for no other sounds. But i am always increasing and decreasing power. Its very annoying to hear this loud cracking. I just installed windows service pack 2. Maybe thats it? I'm horrible with computers. and i dont know how to get rid of this problem:(
Thanks for your time

Crackling sound can be caused by many things.  If that is the only sound doing it, then you could simply have a bad copy of the WAV file for that sound.

Ok, then I would suggest checking to see if the sound card is sharing an interrupt (IRQ) with another high data usage device.

Go to Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Information for the list of hardware IRQ's and how they are apportioned in the system.
