what's the best 2.1 PC speakers out there in the market ($50-$150 range)?

Creative I-trigue 3400's have been getting good reviews in that price range.  I was going to go for a set for Christmas, but a new flashlight won out.

SB Audigy outputting to a Denon amp running 300 watt Mission 4 way speakers with 18" subwoofer.



Um....but yeah I used to have a set of Creative's that were damn good, just not loud enough.  And yes, years of loud music and louder bikes do take their toll.

I'm trying to decide between Klipsch 5.1 and Creative 7.1 systems.  

I know Klipsch is much better but I will have to get them shipped here.

I compute in a small room which really doesn't need too much loudness...your thoughts?

You want a 1000 watts of power with 24" bass cones and more tweeters than you can shake a stick at.  When you fire the Hizooka's the room is supposed to SHAKE, people in other parts of the house are supposed to think there's an earthquake going on and after 6 months of use the building is supposed to need major work to repair the cracks.  And from that time on the word you will use most forever more will be.....what?

Waking up a baby at 10.00pm-12.00am on a regular basis will see me sleeping on the couch mate.  ;)

I actually HAVE a Dennon amp sitting around and two mission speakers....I would just need two more and a subwoofer and I'd have a very similar setup to you.

Ah, every married man's dream......a soundproofed log cabin in the garden.   With it's own power generator, aircon, mini fridge and 7 billion channel cable TV.

im with swoop.


I got a technics 800watt amp linked up to my mixing desk and record players. I have a small 15" sub but dont really use it considering the two 2000w PA speakers i use for sound :)

the only Denon i have i smy tape deck, and its collecting dust right now.

Yes, the room is supposed to shake. Yes, the plaster should crack. Yes, it really hurts when you get hit by bullets. Yes, Lancasters have forced complaints from next door a few times.



If it isnt loud it isnt worth it.


my advice: screw any PC speakers and set up your own system.

although if you dont want to invest, or havnt already, it might be harder than im giving credit for...

yeah.  I don't know the other kind you are talking about, but the creative ones are just that, not bad.

I like having the 7.1.  I like the audigy 2 software.  And I like the speakers.  When I upgraded from 5.1 I was glad I did, but not like OMYGODTHESESPEAKERSROXXORSMYB OXXORS"
