The UN is primarly to the benifit of the US.
At the time it was established the US was one of the dominant powers in the world and one of its main functions is to maintain and encourage that situation.

Whe else did the US bother to try to get endoresment for its stupid and imoral invasion of Iraq? Because it has usually gotten such "world" approval from its puppet orginisation the UN in the past.
With US musle and UN support Iraq had totally disarmed its weapons programs..but its a failure. Why? because they wouldnt rubber stamp the invasion. So it is irrelivent.

If your pissed about this "skimpy" thing..it was a stupid thing to say..if saying stupid things means that the UN is of no benifit to the US what benifit is your president..who has never said a clever thing in his life?

The only reason we know they've totally disarmed (ignoring they were going to jump back in as soon as they had a chance) was because the coalition went in and found out.  Using inspectors was a failure it didn't do it in 12 years and it wasn't going to comfirm it in another 3.

If the US were to pull out of the UN today, crisis would follow for alot of countries.   I say, "Give the people what they want".   When the begging to return begins, flip them the finger.   After it is all done, push the bandwagon off of the cliff.    Where in the f^&k were the "UN donations" when Florida was decimated by Hurricanes?   Some of you make me sick to my stomach.

You spew ignorance more often than flatulence.   What makes me laugh more is the simple fact that idiots all over the world will hate the "average American" due to Bush being our President.  It's ironic, I don't dislike the French people because of Chirac being the PM.   Wait, I know, I was raised better than that.

(This is for Octavius) :aok

Nothing happens to Israel, they would still have our support.
What happens to Middle East Dynamics...the Terrorists would lose their apologist mouthpieces in the U.N. We would gain some of our own valuable real estate.

:rofl

Try World War II launched the US to superpower status.  A position this country has historically never sought out.

UN did not have squat to do with it.  The purpose of the UN was to prevent another World War.

That has yet to be seen.  The world of 2005 is a much more dangerous place than the world of 1985.

Speaking of moving the UN building.... Maybe to Switzerland. A perceived neutral place for an organization that's supposed to be neutral.

BTW, howdy all  ;c)

The UN is nothing more than an antiquated auction house now, a once valued venue for powerfull govn'ts to accert their corporate agendas. Sold to the highest bidder the resources of struggling third world nations, with little or no regard for human rights.

Many examples, the Congo, Iran, Iraq Guatemalan, Nicaraguan. The irony how others cry foul, call it corrupt since the players and management have come to a parting of terms.

I've worked and spent enough time in NY City, to know it should be known as payoff city.  Can't think of a better place for the UN.
