CNN has been showing a story about this. They are saying the influx of cash is sorely needed and that the resort owners / managers are hoping for more tourists to bring their money. They are counting on getting as many tourists there as they can to help maintain the economy. They can't export tourism so there is another angle to this to consider.

On the face of it, it seems to be rather callous but if their money helps keep the country afloat financially it's to the benefit of the locals that more tourist show up.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

LOL, maybe a mild one. I'm still no good at this arguing on the internet thing; been at it for years and I still can't toss a decent insult without liking the other guy too much to make it really hurt.

i did hear on news and bbc, that some of them would rather see restored tourism asap ......

however i can not imagine to lie on the beach, drinking sumfing whilte somebody is digging mass grave few kilometers next to me

there were nice report with guys who were monitoring earth quakes in the area....  ... as the guys (doctors of blah blahh) said... we have informed our subscribers about possible tsunamni

however there were 2 more earth quakes later... 1. was like 8.0 (australia were warned)
2. was 8.5 (australia were warned again)
3. 8.9

however those guys defended themself, that they didnt have clue, that it could hit other places so hard.

i were wondering, that had balls to admit it on BBC

torque... I thought that it had been established that the U.S. was the most generous country in the world with about 40% of the total aid?   Canada usually charges for theirs.

Lada,

It may be a language problem but I do not understand your last post. Are you saying that those who had an inkling about the earthquake didn't do enough to warn the tsunami victims? If so, how do you propose that should have been done? Is there a functional warning system in place for the affected areas that could have been used?

Even the Skorpion is arguable, lazs.  The cyclic rate on that thing is absolutely horrendous.

The Cz-75 series, now...now there is a pistol that just JUMPS into my hand.  absolutely perfect grip.

the cyclic rate of the scorpion and the fact that it is in .32 is so perverted as to make it very cool...

I have a cz 75 copy... EAA witness in .45.... fits the hand well after I got the wood grips for it but... not near as accurate or as reliable as my Kimber in .45

How can someone so wrong about AH gameplay be so right on other things?

I sure hope the locals did beat them up badly and threw them in the toilet.

I'm sure most of these people had their tickets before the disaster.  Maybe they should have kissed their travel money goodbye and just stayed home in an effort to further damage the economies of the affected areas?
