Differences of P4D7-11, P47D-25, P47-30
« on: October 23, 2001, 11:32:00 AM »
I have flown the P47D-11 a bit and was just wondering what the performance differences are between it and the P47D-25 and P47D-30?

I know the P47D-11 seems to be more stable at slow speeds and it takes a bit more to cause the stall buzzer to sound like angry hornet at slow speeds, and I know it seems to turn a bit better? But is there anything else .. well outside of pilot view and ordinance?

And going on this same vein what is the differences between the P47D-25 and the P47D-30 outside of ordinance?

Any help or comments appreciated.

The d30 and 25 biggest diff I think is wieght...but not by much. 30 has dive flaps..the 25 does not. The 25 always seems to just move lighter to me than the 30... no idea why though besides the wieght thing...  IF it makes a difference. The 25 and 30 both have paddle props..the d11 does not..this makes a diff in climb/zoom and perhaps handling as well. The d30 has better wep...the 25 and 11 have the same wep I think (?)

The d11 can turn well for a 47... the problem is that it seems to have developed a nasty slow speed stall that wasnt present before and isnt seen at all in the other 47's.

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

Do you mean that since 1.08 has come out that the P47D-11 now has a nasty low speed stall? I haven't flown the 11 much since 1.08 came out and don't remember it having a low speed stall problem under 1.07. If this is the case .. thanks for passing it on would have been a nasty suprise when flying the plane they way I am use to (pre 1.08).

Well... it happened to me a couple of times
while flying it this tour. I dont think i was doing anything different. It still turns well and all but its alot more squirrelish slow... or it seems that way to me anyway.

The D11 was "to light, i think by about 300lbs" before 1.08.  HT increased the weight for 1.08.  The D11 is not a bad fighter, it has great firepower and lots of ammo for those 8 .50cals.

But it's not really modeled Hooligan. Try this :

- Fly level, accelerate to top lvl speed. Kick the WEP in, see how many mphs you gain. Comapare with HTC charts too if you want to have a kick   :D

Anyway, those P47s suck, fly a D9, that's a real plane.
Dat jugs bro.
