The sad thing is that the command aspect of the game is actually pretty fun. Ask anyone who was a leader in a scenario and they'll tell you. Command skills and A2A skills don't always co-exist in the same player either, so I'm sure a lot of players who are "under the radar" in the MA could really excel at coordinating things if there was a way to do so which made sense.

I just don't have any ideas at the moment on how the game could rank players on command ability. It can't be based on A2A score. And there'd need to be some way for leaders to provide incentive for others to follow 'em (and the high rank the leader, the more incentive perks - or whatever - they would have to dole out).

Dunno ... guess we wait and see what ToD brings.

I make more perkies flying my way and having fun , than I do in trying to win a reset by doing something I don't like. Flying my way may help with a reset sometime. Who Knows.

Doesn't mean I won't help where I can...But I don't do bombs !!

Or , should I say 99% of the time I don't do bombs.

Winning the war means nothing to me. Thats just my personal outlook.

Shooting red planes down does.;)

I am hoping that TOD will attract all the wanna be generals and that the MA will be fun again then.

I don't think that's how it works. Unless things have changed, the missions will already be set by the game software, the roles and targets specifically assigned and the players will just be following orders.  In fact, I wouldn't expect TOD to appeal to the mass of MA players, either strat or furball. It will probably, IMO, grab some of the IL2 crowd, and those who would want a RPS, like role playing or who like scenario play. It may draw some of those heavily focused rank, but it will also likely limit the ability to "game" a higher rank. It will be interesting to see if TOD numbers rival the MA in the end, or replicate the numbers in the CT.

can't see how it would attract the furballers....  But, anything could happen.

I don't think it will either. I seem to remember (maybe wrong) HT noting in an interview at some point in the past that TOD will attract a "different" type of player, by and large, than the one who exclusively enjoys the MA for furball or strat reasons. Not that there won't be some crossover. IMO it won't change the face of the MA one bit, for better or worse.

It might not change the people in the ma but it may allow HT to change the way the ma works.    If there is less reward for the horde it will go to the TOD.   If the fields are closer and easier to capture say...  there will be a lot more furball action and less gratification for the mouse weilding building battlers.
