Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once... oui.

I was lucky to grow up near Dallas. KERA was one of the very first to air british comedies on Sunday nights in the 70's. I remember the first time I saw Monty Python, I was hooked. Some of my favorites were Good Neighbors (The Good Life), Reginald Perrin, Fizz, Up Pompeii, Open All Hours, Are You Being Served and of course Benny Hill.

Suprised there has not been more mention of 'Red Dwarf', can imagine that would be popular with yanks too.

and 'Only Fools And Horses' you not had that aired over there?
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

I have a plan so cunning, you could stick a tail on it and call it a weasel.

I love Fawlty Towers.  My favourite was where Basil was hitting his Austin 1300 with a tree branch! :)  Also the episode where Manuel's arm is on fire!!! :)

Another absolutely fantastic comedy series was Porridge.  Unfortunately I don't think many people out of the UK saw this series, I found it more funny than Fawlty Towers.

Blackadder is a favourite too.

Queen: There's definitely been no sign of Edmund.
Percy: I fear not, Ma'am.
Queen: Why he vanished? Simply vanished...
Percy: Like an old oak table...
Queen: Vanished, Lord Percy, not varnished.
Percy: Forgive me, My Lady, but my Uncle Bertram's old oak table completely vanished.
'Twas on the night of the great Stepney fire. And on that same terrible night, his house and
all his other things completely vanished too. So did he, in fact. It was a most perplexing
mystery.
Queen: Lord Percy?
Percy: Yes?
Queen: It's up to you: either you can shut up, or you can have your head cut off.
Percy: (squints, thinks very long and hard about it) I'll shut up.

Baldrick, how did you manage to find a turnip that cost 400,000 pounds?

Well, I had to haggle...
