CH Pro Pedals
« on: January 09, 2005, 03:56:54 PM »
Ok, so I have an X52 that is simple enough to program out of game to get the second hat to work...  I can figure this Saitek stuff out on my own.

The CH stuff, OTOH, is too darn complicated.

All I want is to have the toe brakes act as rudder as oppossed to the Z axis or slip rudder system.  I have a pull-out keyboard spot on my desk that I put the joystick and throttle on, so I can not have the slip rudder system as it is just too uncomfortable with the knees banging the desk and all.

How would I go into the CH setup thing and make it so that the toe brakes are the rudder.  Left toebrake for left rudder, right toebreak viceversa.  When neither is in action, it should center.

Can any patient soul give me a step by step on how to do this please?  Computer illiterate here, btw.

The CH pedals have three axes: 1 for sliding action and 1 each for toe brakes.

AH only lets you assign one axis for rudder so I think you are stuck with the sliding action.  I don't think you can make the two axes of the CH toe brakes act as a single axis in the CH control software (I have the same pedals).

Best advice if you don't want to use the sliding rudder is grab a steering wheel and pedals combo and use the pedals as an AH rudder system.  Most wheels use one axis operated by the accelerator and brake pedals which you can assign as rudder in AH.

You could assign it by assigning the toe brakes instead of the key commands from the keyboard.  Problem is, its not going to center.  It would be just like using the keyboard for rudder, only with your feet operating it.  With everything else to concentrate on, sounds like a pain in the butt.  Sit farther back and use the pedals right.

Use Pro Pedals toe rudder action

I have the standard pedals that used the toe action.  When I went USB all I could buy was the Pro version which slides.  I have them set up to use the toe rudder as you described.  You have to use your Control Manager software and write a script.  Install the rudder blocks that came with your pedals.  Tell Aces high setup and your in business.  I have been flying for a couple of years and have had zero cal issues, problems, etc.
It can be done.
