Could use some help

Hey Folks:

Well I'm finally gunna give painting a try, and was thinking about an aviation theme. My mother is an artist, so I'll be taking lessons from her, so I have that part covered. I haven't quite decided what I'm going to paint, but am leaning towards some northern action, less colours, hopefully will be an easier background.

I need your help in picking the right skins for northern action, either Russia / Finn, or German /Russian. You see waht I'm going to do is take tons of snapshots in AH2 offline in the proper planes, all at various angles, then use that to help me paint the objects.

So if you folk could tell me the planes and the proper skins that are in AH2 for the above mentioned actions, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Here is a quick pic I whipped up , it's not at all the painting I'll attempt, but you get the idea.





BTW, if any artists out there already have a different way to accomplish the same thing, I'd love to know how you go about painting aviation art.

Funny, I just dusted off my paint and supplies this weekend.

I'm still just trying to get my landscapes looking nice, I can't even begin to think about painting airplanes. When it comes to man-made objects, I really tend to bet too detail oriented, and it really jacks up my work.

Good luck, I really wish I had some advice to give you, but mostly just keep at it. You learn something every time you paint.

That's cool Sikboy, . I'd say ,'fellow artist', but , on my side, that's yet to be proven, hehe. Although I was thinking of  painting a dogfight over Antarctica from 10k out, kinda like a speck on a white background, but I don't think It'll make the cut.

I have a pal who is very good at aviation art, if ya want to send me your email, I'll show ya some of it. We are actually working on possibly printing and selling some of them.

Anyway, gunna throw this thread over to Gen. disc., I need more responses.
