Report from the Aleutians (Academy Award Nominee) This documentary, narrated by Academy Award winning director John Huston (and partly narrated by his father Walter (Treasure of Sierra Madre), is a rare window on early air war action in Alaska's Aleutian Islands, including some of the earliest documented war time footage of the P-38E, P-39, and B-24C. Fighting in a part of the world where it was either raining or snowing most of the year was no picnic, as shown by footage of aircraft belly flopping on strips that were closer to swimming pools than landing fields. B-24 raids on Kiska are portrayed in detail as well as rare scenes from daily military life in 1942 at an Army Air Corps base in the Frozen North.
