We are currently working on a very comfortable, ADA compliant blind which will house the LIVE-SHOT shooting system. Once this and the perimeter fencing are completed, will we be able to offer a unique computer assisted hunting opportunity. Disabled and handicapped hunters, as well as others who would like to try this type of hunting, will be able to use our system. This is offered in addition to the traditional hunting methods that will be available at the ranch. For those interested in coming to Texas for a hunt, lodging and meals are available in nearby Rocksprings. Transportation is available to and from the ranch and pick up form San Antonio international airport can be provided. Listed are some of the species which will be available on a year round basis.

So you'd control a "device" via webcam and remote control after having subdued or otherwise pacified your quarry...hmm...that would be worth $15 a month, especially since you can get it all on DVD after.

This could be interesting.  The hunting part seems far fetched, I'll grant you.  If you can't leave the comfort of your house to take game, you have no business hunting.

The target shooting though sounds like a neat idea.  Gimmicky as hell, but not a bad idea.  Might be fun to try as an internet diversion once or twice, but you can play Deer Hunter on the computer and probably have just as much fun.  Far as hunting goes, it's probably more fun.

That's why it's called hunting and not killing.

Hmmm...combine this idea with capital punishment, and I think there's some serious money making potential here.

Hell its already been done SOB, back in the old days.  Remote control rifle house.  No one made money on it then.  Why do you think it would make money now?

Saw something about that on the History Channel not long ago.

The part that I don't get is the "Disabled and handicapped hunters" aspect of it. From the ones that I know who hunt they enjoy getting out into the woods and can do so with assistance from friends and others who enjoy hunting as much as they do. If you are so handicapped as to be bed ridden or house bound I really don't think you are wondering about shooting something this way as much as you would be about making it from day to day.

These deer ranchers should be put out of the online hunting business. In my view; if you are going to hunt get off your butt and go do it. Hell thats over half the reason I go hunting is to get outside and away from the real world.

The whole thing is...sick
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

I agree Reschke, but there was no mention of deer hunting in your link.  The game animals are sheep and wild hogs.  Exotic animals mostly, and mostly tame.  How wild can a sheep or hog be?

There was an article on the BBC UK site (should be the first article in a google search for remote control hunting) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4022147.stm

In there it mentions that regulated animals such as native deer were not able to be hunted but as you can only imagine it may change everything.

Ummm.........

Have you ever SEEN a wild boar?  Or even a sow with piglets?  My dad damn near lost his leg to one of those because he thought like you.

Even though the ones here in Hawaii are nothing like the size of real Razorbacks, I still wouldnt want to get too darn close to one.  100-200 pounders are still big enough to take a chunk outta you if you arent careful.  A real Razorback I wouldnt get within 100 yards of unless I had a high powered rifle and a quick getaway in case I dont drop him fast.  They can hit over 300 pounds, and the shield on those things can stop a .44 magnum.

Wheew, you mention that S word again and JOC will appear. :D
On the other hand a hog can be just wild enough to cut a stirrup from a Billy Cook roping saddle while your trying to do a circus act by standing up on the saddle. :p

I've killed several large boars walking down the road at 7:00 AM at various times.  The largest one I've heard of was a 600 pounder (estimated), and the 7mm magnum misfired.  I have the cartridge, and no quarter was given to the hunter who had it in his sights.  However I believe him when he described the size.  We hunted in the river swamp and killed about 30 hogs amongst 3 people.
