what is hitech afraid of?
« on: January 10, 2005, 03:21:28 PM »
Squaddie mentions he thinks a player is *treating* on range vox, he gets muted.

Same squaddie posts on this BB about 2 players he suspects are *treating* and his post is immediately erased.

Why does HTC squelch discussions about *treating*?  The majority of players have seen game play that appears 'too good to be true', yet HTC acts as if *treating* doesn't exist.

What is HTC's policy on *treats*? Have they discovered any *treats* in the past? Done anything about them?

We are told to film questionable game play and email them to HTC--what does HTC do with them?  Are *treaters* ever caught?

And what about the 'for bribes' link in Hitech's signature block--are *treats* available to those who send Hitech a bottle of scotch?

IMO, HTC can continue to act as if *treating* does not exist or it can come clean and let us know what they are doing to squelch it.

I don't like to play when I feel others are *treating*. I am less motivated to play when I see HTC squelching discussions of *treating* rather than doing something about it.

*substitute with a word that rhymes with treat, treats or treating.*

He isn't afraid of anything.

E-mail him with your concerns and he will deal with the situation IMMEDIATELY.

Talk about it in-game, or post it here and you won't get any sympathy.

Hulk:
1. We take cheating very seriously.
2. Rumors of cheating are just as detrimental as cheating.
3. Telling people what we do about to block cheating just helps out the people who would wish to try.
4. Anyone caught hackingis banned permantly .

There is absolutly no good that can come from a discusion of cheating publicly, so email us, and we will deal with it.

ROFL, that's the funniest thing I've read today.

It's like mad-libs for people who can't use the "search" functions of the BBS

HiTech

I for one hope HTC never puts a spell check on the BBS, cause I just love reading most of what Hefe Grande writes:rofl

Make no bones about it, any emailed info to HTC of suspected "topic":D is fully investegated. It would kill the game if they treated it any other way.  Theres alot of things I dont know, but this aint one ofem:aok

I will always contend that most people who accuse others of cheating do not understand the ACM that the enemy just pulled off.  "Most of the time"

A few months back a squadie of mine stumbled across a game "Bug" that allowed an aircraft to have unlimited WEP. Now what incentive did we have as a squad to turn this bug in? other than honesty nothing. We tested it out in a few aircraft and found it to be a fleetwide bug. I sent an email to HTC instead of posting it on the board and within a week there was a patch to fix it.

Could some of these strange things be happening like this? Im sure its possible. But if there are bugs out there that gives a player an advantage there is not one reason for someone to turn it in except to be honest.

I ask HTC to give some type of reward for turning these bugs in "If they exist or are found". If someone finds a bug that gives them an advantage over another player they should want to turn it in, not keep it to themselves so they can get easier kills.

My squadies use range channel to accuse people of masterbating all the time, and none have ever been muted :rofl

I refuse to submit films of people masterbating in the main arena as I'm pretty sure its illegal
