If I'm not mistaken, the JU-87G's used a similar tactic (dive, level off coming up behind your target, fire).  I just found a way that works for me... it works well because I don't really have to worry about smacking into the ground if I screw up the pullout... I can just re up.

I'm sure a real life pilot would be a little more leery of pulling out of a relatively steep dive at 600-900 feet going 250-300 mph.

They seem to take me out with regularity. Heck, last night  I was shooting at  a fighter...a Spit if I recall correctly, I had bullets hitting around me and the last thing I saw was at D-800 and then I was in the tower :(

Yep, it was you and ord and vh were down.  I have seen this before.  I was flying at 3.5K and was not directly over you so I should have been 4K or more out.  Good shot though. :aok

I have seen it before when a squadie will say "levelin off at 10K" , I look up and forwards and see him at 1.5k or 2k out.  Only problem is, I did not pass 7K yet.

Here is a link to a training film  clip on the proper use of the Hurri2D. Too bad its a bit short.

The site also has a ton of other aviation videos, not ww2 related.

in hurri 2d remember to only fire cannons and not both type of gun.. if you fire both at the same time and you see stikes they will almost be 303 rounds hitting.. just fire the cannons experiment with angle and you should do fine.:aok

You could also use the 303 as a range-finding aid. Just converge them out a little farther than your 40mm's, and hold the trigger as you get close. When your impacts converge on the target, pull the trigger for the 40mm, and with the reaction time delay of the human brain and the extra distance of the 303's convergence, you should end up firing at about the right time.

I think this was done in the real world too.

I have my convergence set for 450 yards and have nearly always pulled off target by 300 yards.  I fire one volley at ~600 yds and a second volley (if able) at ~450.   A convergence setting of under 300 forces you to get too close to the target which extremely hazardous when a vehicle is surrounded by trees.

Hey thanks for some good tips at gunning GVs.

I also have a trick killing Tigers with small bombs like a nikkies carry. Make an approach from the treads side and drop one bomb on the approach side by the treads and drop the other bomb on the departure side of the treads. About 40 degrees nose down. Its kills them everytime

Thanks....I didn't think I was going to hit you, I was actually trying to distract you from noticing our M3. :D

I may be completely wrong, but I thought we used yards when we're measuring distance to a target in AH.  If altitude is measured in thousands of feet, and distance is measured in yards, wouldn't 1k of distance would be around 3k of altitude?

So, I am an idiot after all,

Called my school.  I will be returning all degrees that had math classes. (And no, I was not part of the design team of THAT Mars lander)

In case of Panzers, the best approach is a very steep attack against the rooftop armour. A 90 degrees attack on the rooftop will not disable, but explode a Panzer4 with just 1 volley(2 shells) of 40mms.

Hey Kweassa...

good fight last night, you were the 109 who had me by the throat, I was the low Ki-84, by A200.:aok

Nice to have an extended 1-1 for once.

Lol,  I have a science degree too, and I suck at math.  One of the funniest things I ever saw was when some guy from NASA gave a speech in one of my classes.  The guy was LITERALLY a rocket scientist, and it took him 15 minutes to figure out how to work the VCR. :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
