Could use some help
Hey Folks:

Well I'm finally gunna give painting a try, and was thinking about an aviation theme. My mother is an artist, so I'll be taking lessons from her, so I have that part covered. I haven't quite decided what I'm going to paint, but am leaning towards some northern action, less colours, hopefully will be an easier background.

I need your help in picking the right skins for northern action, either Russia / Finn, or German /Russian. You see waht I'm going to do is take tons of snapshots in AH2 offline in the proper planes, all at various angles, then use that to help me paint the objects.

So if you folk could tell me the planes and the proper skins that are in AH2 for the above mentioned actions, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Here is a quick pic I whipped up , it's not at all the painting I'll attempt, but you get the idea.




 


BTW, if any artists out there already have a different way to accomplish the same thing, I'd love to know how you go about painting aviation art.

i like the idea, but i think the composition is wrong, your main subject needs draw the eye from it to the lesser sujects( the smaller planes) what i would do is make the 109 lower, more of an angle so you see more of the port wing. and a lot closer (10 times bigger) as if your flying on his wing..so the eye is drawn into the picture forming a natural flight path feel...
another thing you can try is the planes fly towards you

Ya Selector, I'm not set in my decision of the composition, yet. I'd like to see what color the planes will be ,first. But I can't seem to get any help as to which skins flew those fights. Oh well, guess I'll start from scratch and start looking it up.  Wonder if that Kurland scenario info is still around?

I like the big wing idea tho, .
