Funny thing, way back in beta (the first one) the bases were nothing to brag about.  Couple Fh's a BH & a VH. Tower sat out there in the middle. Yeah they were there, but nothing to get excited about.

And there were a few, who cared about bases. But mostly we cared about combat.

Now bases are huge, plus citys, fuel, ord, barracks, multiple hangers, etc. And everyones worried about bases!

They can have the bases! Just give me a runway, and some GOOD combat!

Granted I've gotten caught up in the nonsense all too often myself.

Just give me a good 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 where nobody whines afterwards.
Either you lived or you died when it was over you sent a if you thought it was a good fight. Then you WENT OUT AND DID IT AGAIN!!!

My objective is to have fun.

Have captured bases and have helped out on occasion but on Euro hours there is not often a coordinated effort. Upping and shooting down clueless people is what I like best. Being shot down is what I loathe the most, even after a good fight.

Hitech long ago made arrangements for the "No Field Capture" , "No puffy ack" and etc. crowd.  I think he named it the Dueling Arena.   DA is what the MA would be if you removed elements like these.  If it were such a hot concept one would think DA would be filled nightly, in particular with some of the guys above.

Dogfighting alone is fine for the arcade!I want to get involved in playing cooperatively with other people. That's why I play online and don't bother with ordinary boxed computer gameswhere you just fight the AI.

it's a big hamster wheel for tards that goes around and around, hence my phrasing - hamstards...

base capture per se is a necessary evil that is supposed to *generate* gameplay. sometimes it does, as often as not it's merely a bunch of barely adequate horde of lawndarts and vulchtards looking for either an easy capture or a bunch of vulches, both of which pad scores and generate massive circle jerks of faux 's and wtg's.

I'd acknowlegde a hard fought for base capture vs dedicated defense than the usual steamrollers seen.

the bombing and jabo is fun...a few descent fights develop...than its 50 guys vulching 1 or 2 guys upping. Yawn. Ive found now i like to see how many of the tards i can ho taking off. sad part is i usually trade near one to one. we need a new twist. i want guns turned on for bombers on the ground. (hmm..think ill post)
