Poll: Razor or Shaver?
« on: January 12, 2005, 11:03:16 PM »
My wife got me a Braun Activator for Christmas. Up until now, I've never used an electric shaver. So far, I'm getting used to it, but I think I like it. It seems to take longer but there's no mess.

What do you use?

Had one of those Remington things for years, one day it malfunctioned and literaly sanding my chin..ouch!  Went to a Sensor after that....now Im using those disposable Gillete 3 things.

Someday, someone will invent a 3 blade razer with that plastic insert piece, so you can push it to shove the debris out rinse it out.

I havent gone back to electric since, although some of the self-cleaning Brauns look good.  Just cant see spending $100-$179 for one.

The only problem I had with electrics was that the shaving cream seemed to clog it up pretty quicky.

Don't have this problem with the Braun. It's a dry shaver.

It's closer than a blade. When I first started using it, I bled a bit. First couple of days it really seemed to irritate my face, but I'm getting used to it.

wow, if you bled it sounds like the thing gives a close shave. I've heard when you start to use an electric, you get some irritation at first.

I wouldn't mind trying one.

It's left some welts on my face, and I've managed to nick a few places on my neck. Doesn't bleed like a razor when it bites you, but it gets your attention. :)

All I've ever used is an electric shaver. Works great. Never used blades.
