One more P51B skin

Took a break from skinning for a while and thought I'd ease back into it with olive drab for a change.    Dan/Guppy suggested this one a few months ago, and HTC might appreciate another Texas namesake in the game.   Will post to AH Skins after some intial feedback jsut in case I goofed on something...

BTW, Dan can you give me a reference on the graphic image you provided?   Will need it when I submit to HTC.    Thanks!

Specifics on that particular bird can be found in a couple of different sources.

"Escort to Berlin" by Jeff Ethell and Garry Fry lists all the particulars including it being assigned to Victor France.

Don Allen's nose art for that bird is replicated by Mr. Allen in Frank Speer's book "The Debden Warbirds-The 4th Fighter Group in WW II"  Frank Speer was a 4th FG 51 pilot and pulled together tons of stuff. Don Allen redid many of his more well known nose art pieces that appear in the book.

The profile comes from a Aero Master Decal sheet.  "Debden Eagles"

You need more then that?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments.

Yep, Guppy that oughta do it fine.   Should be plenty of references there.

thebest1, not sure how others do it but I us a variety of irregular 'spash' type brushe in PS, and use an opacity of less then 50% and just build it up slowly with 2 or 3 layers and silver/grey shaded paint, then when it looks right I compress them into one layer.

I never think it looks totally right; I usually get as close as I can to what I'm thinking and force myself to stop.   Otherwise I'd still be tweaking it now.
