I withheld shooting him for fun for a long time, the poor guy was trying everything he could think of to shake me and he just couldn't. Two notches of flaps on the pony pretty much took care of all the handling I needed. eventually he started a shallow climbing turn and started to put some distance between us so a D800m I placed the pipper slightly above his nose and to the left (he was spiriling up and left at about 2000fpm) I fired approximately 50 rounds, it looked like they all hit and he went *poof*. I was utterly amazed.
Is this right???!!!!!??? my opponent was a guy that I would consider average just like myself.
does the ponie's modelling need to be turned down a bit?
I find a four gun mustang to be a pretty good turner vs. a G10(well so is a six gun version actually). It really depends on how the G10 driver drives said G10.
A 109 (about any of em) will out accelerate a mustang in level flight.
A 109 will outclimb a mustang in sustained flight.
I think a mustang will outdive a 109 given both pilots are diving in the same manner (zero g or not zero g).
A mustang will zoom climb better than a G10 given both planes are at equal energy.
At high speed the mustang will outhandle all 109s with ease. The mustang is still flying freely at the speed the 109 is pretty much locked up.
Some folks understand how to make the above relative characteristics work for them when flying a G10 vs a Mustang and cause large amounts of problems for the stang. Given a choice they won't turn but will stay just out of the mustang's sight picture while in a spiral climb and absolutely blow a 51 away if the 51 driver doesn't recognize what's happening and falls for it.
Conversly if the G10 driver is flying the Mustang's fight then he will lose handily.
It all depends on how you fly whatever it is your flying vs whatever it is your flying against.
I don't think the Mustang flight model needs any work at all.
50 Rounds of 4 .50's at D800 -
Damage depends on convergence setting and range the hits take place. I haven't found the .50 cals to be particularly strong at D800.
I suspect that 109 was previously damaged.
Just Guessing
