Ummm.......
So are you saying real WWII pilots didnt do these things? If you want to talk "realism". I'm not disagreeing with the sentiment behind your posts, because some of the same things annoy me under certain circumstances. But comon. Realistically, pilots in WWII did every one of those things you just listed on a regular basis. HO? Yep. And I'm not just talking about a few FW's HOing B-17's either, it happened all through the ETO all along the timeline. Dive into ack? Heck yeah, hitting ground targets was big business. Certain versions of the Hurricane were known as the "Hurri-bomber", the Typhoon was a deadly ground attack plane, the P-51 and P-47 were both used to great effect. The Germans were so impressed with the ability of the FW to take on the ground attack role they built the FW 190F series specially for that purpose. What, you think there was no ack protecting ground targets and airfields? I will grant you that more than likely a pilot never manned a 5" gun on a ship. But we have alot of guys that switch back and forth between GVs and planes, and that didnt happen either. As for vulching...........well, surely everyone who plays this game has seen enough of those strafing videos from gun cams to know it not only happened but it was encouraged if they were attacking an airfield.
Its all part of the game man. Its not going away. Live with it and learn to play around it. You'll appreciate it when you get a fight on your terms all the more, because you will stop playing the other guy's game. Again, I'm not disagreeing with you, but some things you just have to accept.
