Sony Vegas 5

I bought it Streamo.

Me being the type that would rather crack or get a cracked program like this, one being so expensive, I cringed when I handed the lady at the counter the 600 dollars.

On top of that I was talking to my professor about it, and how much this damn software costs... I told him I had gotten Vegas and he proceeded to smack me on the back of the head while telling me I coulda gotten it through my campus for 1/3 of the cost. Ah well live and learn I guess. I'm going to try and return it and try to get it through my professor but we'll see

Anyways, I have to say I'm very impressed with it. The ease of use compared to Adobe's Premiere Pro can't be put to words. There are so many "hidden" things with adobe that if you dont know they are there, or how to use them your up the big brown creek with no paddle, until you do some learning and alot of trial and error. With Vegas alot of what you need is there and is very straight forward. There is alot more to it though and its a very complex program but for the a user, new to Vegas, it doesnt seem as overwhelming as Adobe did when i was first handed it and started working with it.

I did have a problem getting it to render with DIVX though. And I may need to have a chat with you stream to get that straightend out if you wouldnt mind. But that was about it.

On a side note for streamo. I am still going to be able to make it for that thing. Either friday or saturday night is fine, or both. We'll talk before then I'm sure tho.

Hey streetstang.  I really don't have a solution to your problem, but I will agree with you that Sony Vegas does offer much more easy to use effects.  Premiere Pro is also a nice program but requires alot of knowledge.  Don't get me wrong, Sony Vegas does as well, but its more user-friendly.  In Vegas I believe you can also easily crop and pan your display around where in Premiere, you can not.

Here is a little intro I made using Sony Vegas 5 for a Counter Strike Source clan I am in....
Vegas 5 Demo

The explosion took a little time because I had to sync the jitter effect with the sound, but overall it took maybe 30 mins from the time I opened Vegas up and was ready to render.

So, both programs..thumbs up, but I would definitely prefer Vegas over Premiere.

Yeah completely agree with you mak.

I spent alot of time to get to know Adobe and the ins and outs. We were able to work with it alot in some courses I've taken and the knoledge I have gained isn't wasted or useless I dont beleive. Its just amazing though how nice Vegas seems to be at this early in the stage for me using it.
Gonna really get down and dirty with it tomorrow hopfully if not saturday. Then I'll be able to make a full assesment of the program for myself.

lol Sure Wadke. I have just the music to use with that one too. :D

I did get to making a film last night. Being my first one with Vegas 5 I was doing alot of figureing things out, as far as how vegas works and many of the little ins and outs of it.

It came out alright. I'll have it up to download this morning sometime. Its a fairly large film, 8:14 Minutes long @ 229mb.
