A call to all bish steely-eyed mustang men
« on: February 04, 2000, 04:40:00 PM »
Whooopeee!..  looks like JG2 (knights)is up fer bear tonight at 10:00pm eastern. This is a crack LW unit; well led, and they know how to use their tools.

It is unknown at this time as to the LW's intent.. or their target location.

I propose we make ourselves available to serve the main course at the party.. "werger-burgers". Details on the bish channel as they become available tonight.

Muahhahhaaaaaaaaaaa!

To those Steely-Eyed Mustang Men who flew last night in defense of the homeland... Nice job!. Very Nice, indeed. We lost only f3; and the flanks held wonderfully; the buff element was destroyed utterly... would have been pretty ugly without all your help.

Thanks again!

Hang, after the fighter sweep of which I was a part of, I organised a buff strike on nit HQ/city.  What a flop!  We had 6 buffs and 2 scorts sittin on the runway at 1.  We rolled, and it all went downhill from there.  One of our buffs dissapeared, and we never heard from him again.  A few minutes later, one of our buffs got discoed, leaving us down to 4.  Next, we find that one of us is really trailing behind.  After a little investigation, we find that he has brought 100% fuel instead of 50%!  Doh!  He falls back to the point that we lose vis of him. And then there were 3.  When we crossed the mountains and were betweern 22 and 21, we met some knight resistance, and the lowest of the 3 was picked off by a con. (we're gonna get you next time dolomite   )  Ok we're down to 2 buffs, and all our escorts are engaged in the furball in the mountains.  Me and beef keep moving towards our target, but get more opposition.  Beefcake gets bounced from below, sending him smoking, and he turned around.  Oh great, im the last man standing, and with no cover!    Here comes good old dolomite and madvlad to take care of me.  Few minutes later im missing a few engines, a wing or 2, my tail surfaces, and im falling back to mother earth.  This raid was a nice flop, but I couldn't help to find it funny that our force of 6 buffs and escorts couldn't even get 1 buff to the target

Happy Flying

Yeah, our buff strike force was a bit of a joke - 3 B26's! We couldn't seem to generate any interest in bombing. Of the 3 of us, only I managed any targets destroyed (and that was only because coyote was slow on the trigger). After that we spread out and did take F3. I came back and hit the ack and tower on F8, some ack, fuel and tower at F4.

Met up with two of Mark's formation on the next trip, getting Beef and Mark. Don't know who got the trailing bomber, that wasn't me!   I ended the night there, figuring if I killed Mark in his buff, I did ok.

You 'stangs did a number on us in the first go 'round (just lucky we didn't have more of a bomber force  ).

S! See you next time!

He He,I was leading a 190 sweep when I saw a low B17 and a Pony in the mountains,(hoping  the P-51 is Hangtime)I dropped external and dove from 22k at the Pony but soon had so much smash built up I couldn`t get a good angle so instead hit the B17 from his low 6. "BOOM!-a good burst at D-400 w/4 20mm cannons and mg`s made short work of the B-17,I then saw the pony on Swagers six and tried to close and kill him before he could get Swager but was about 3 seconds behind his kill,he also became a "wurger burger" after a quick 20mm BBQ. Was a great night to be flying, got a kill on Skorpion in his 190 while flying a G-10  after an awesome display of flying from him-prolly the best 190 flying I`ve seen so far <S>,if your ever looking for a new home Skorpion, dump the Breakfast Club and come see JG 2,theres a 190 waiting in the hanger for you.

Wardog,

How many times did you kill me on the vultched field? I came close to getting you a couple of times but got discoed and could not reconnect, if I had you would have added to your totals last nite anyway.

I, too, had a blast!  Unfortunately, not sure I qualify as a "Steely-Eyed Mustang Man", still a newbie.  In our first combat, fergot to drop my tanks!

I would like to blame it on this head cold, but it's just as likely I need to consider cutting back on the sims ... flew DoA earlier in the evening, jumped over to WB to fly a 109 in defense of Berlin in the 9 PM Scenario Lite (I lasted longer than I expected, actually had to land after one furball and refuel), then over to AH for a Pony ride ...

I'm slowly getting better at all of them, but perhaps I should cut back on the FM's and concentrate more on just a couple ... what do you guys think?  (Actually, the planes I'm most interested in learning to fly well are the tripe in DoA, and the P-38    and P-51 in AH.)  Except for the historical events I guess I'd have to say I like AH better than WB, especially due to the "fixed fee".
