If their MP code gets any worse, I think were going to see some mail bombs going their way.

I'm going insane with FS2004, I downloaded the update which supposedly fixed the memory leak which causes a declined framerate...nah.

Takeoff from Columbus and fly to Louisville...when ya land its shooting an ILS like its a slideshow.

Although, I recently did discover the Shift+Enter command which lowers your sight line by raising your virtual head...makes a Lear 45 that much happier to land :)

Nothing has been released yet. Personally I'll be waiting until all the pro houses move their stuff over to FS10 before purchasing. As it is FS9 with a few addons is a great experience especially over VATSIM or IVAO

I don't doubt you have a problem but it's not universal.  I've flown FS9 for hours without any graphic problems.

I'm guessing you updated your drivers...

Good luck with a fix...

It might be time to check out X-plane.  Free demo (plays for 5 minutes at a time before joystick is disabled) at:

http://www.x-plane.com/

X-plane is FAA certified for certain training, and has much more realistic aerodynamics then MSFS.  MSFS still has a lead on some eye candy, but that's mostly on the ground.

Yeah we still have a few in the VA that are running  FS8 either because they have built it up so much that they don't wish to do it all again with FS9 or they dont have a rig to run it fast enough.

Given I'm in the earlier catagory but with FS9 It will take me a while to move over, but I'll still probably get it just to see what's changed and start building  as new stuff is released to cater for it.

X-Plane does have good planes that are better then any of the boxed planes with MSFS though all the pro house stuff for MSFS makes it far superior imho.

As for graphics they don't even come close to MSFS with detailed world airports with full SID/STARS, ,global terrain mesh, realisitc  AI traffic if you don't fly online, seasonal textures and real world weather. Oh and ATC.

X-Plane is good but MSFS is still far superior imho if your looking for real world detail, virtual airlines and being able to fly anything from Bush to Jumbo's on a global scale.

Howdy gixer,

A quick update, some things have changed since you last used X-Plane:

1.  X-Plane now uses accurate meshes of terrain, based on the shuttle radar mapping mission.

2. X-Plane 8.0 now has real world street details, with building generation.  You can use any level of street detail as real visual landmarks.

3. It supports METAR live, real world weather.

4. It has full VATSIM support.  X-Plane and MSFS pilots can fly side by side and see each others traffic.  This means that participation in virtual airlines exists now.

5. The world is fully mapped to a sphere (for like 3 major versions now) so you can fly anywhere in anything.  X-Plane even simulates orbital flight and full re-entry profiles.

Not trying to threadjack, just clear up some outdated info.  BTW, a cool upcoming feature that makes use of the real-world road data, click the following link.  Didn't put it inline so it wouldn't stretch the window:

Best regards,

Chairboy

real world roads IMHO are more important than anything to recreate a VFR flying experience.
there's a similar package for MSFS, but u gottta pay. hopefully FS2006 will include it in the default scenery. current road detail is a joke.

I appreciate your point of view and I know X-Plane has come along way recently especially with Vatsim and VA's. I just can't agree that it's better (or close to) then FS9 especially with the many professional and freeware addons that take it from being good to quite exceptional. It's that build process that makes it what it is.

Chairboy, does X-plane have any Garmins and does it support undocked windows?

Would be nice to have a sim where the GPS is more realistic than FS2004.
