how about comparing both to MY P-38L, I personally think nates P-38 looks better. Look at those ugly intakes on the IL-2 plane. I mean I like Gabs work but it looks like he modeled those last and when he got to them he ran out of polys and had to cut corners.

that's a nice skin i want it too

i think the shape of the ah model is more accurate

the il2 does have some radio wires and that tailwarning radar on the tail.

i can see a big difference in the cockpit too.

i like both games btw

Oh I agree but now look at your IL2 SS and then look at the the original posters, big difference...

But if you are not uisng a default skin then I would say its not fair to compare the 2. I bet when the good skinners get a hold of the AH 38s they will look even better.

ummm,that isn't the IL2 38 I posted that isn't even the same game. That is a model of the P-38L I MADE for another video game currently in development.

That's why I said compare.

the front windscreen armor plate should extend higher up razer.

yours has a mix of a p38g and a p38J windshield.

The guns look funny and the cockpit shape seems wrong on the last one.

I am glad that the new screenys of the AH2 p38 show canopy framing that is near the standard of the rest of the model. They droped the ball on that with the Frank IMHO.
Personally I think the AH2 P38 will kick the bellybutton of the IL2 p38. Easier gunnery alone probably makes it 50% more effective.

I've been knocking the graphics in AH for awhile but then I turned texture size to 1024 and discovered an increase in graphic detail,and I must admit I never knew it was that good.I've been runnig at 128 for awhile which is horrific.As a player of IL-2 and AH I think Hitech is headed in the right direction and hard work ussually pays off.

Oh boy, that Il-2 screenshot is really ugly. Nice to see HTC is working on graphics.

I'd like to see TW cockpits and a/c (I mean those we are beta-testing) implemented in AH2, tho ....

That would be my guess also.

I never did understand the quibling over the details. Most of the truly important aspects of the flightsim have very little to do with the aircraft detail. Aircraft performance, effects, terrain and lighting are all much more critical for any sense of immersion. Anyone can model a detailed aircraft.

BTW nate... nice work. It's the first time I've seen a P-38 that cit didn't spend every waking hour bashing. I knew that once you finally lost your virginity your work would improve.

AH2 BBS =AH2 bias
Il-2 BBS = IL-2 bias

not even worth "discussing" these models here you wont get anywhere. They both look great.

yea its TW. I've added the P-38F, P-38G, P-38H, P-38J, P-38L (with working dive brakes) and later if we ever get radar I added the P-38M for "what-if" missions.

I personally like nates better when it comes to il-2 or AH. I would take better game play over graphics any day. It is hard to find a happy medium though.

Yup the B-29, its looks like pure crap...
