I had the same problem, what I had to do was download the whole program (77mb) and reinstall. The patch had problems with my version of the film viewer and just would not open.

Mine played normally until about half-way thru my only 2.02 film, then it repeatedly locks up and crashes.....  :(

I'll try another film tonight.

ive been messing with it for over an hour now ...

it seams to me that the only time it crashes is when i fire my guns ... then its instant crash ... I got thru 11 mins of last tuesdays squad mission and as soon as i opened up it crashed ...  I've watched 20 different films and that seams to be it ..

AHFV works fine here.

Maybe a reinstall of the full version will help kill the bug?

I always go for that first before trying other things.

Got it Ros.

The film wont even start for me.

Tried it on all three of my computers here and had no luck. One of my computers does not have the new update and it wouldnt open on that one either.

Maybe the problem lies in the actual recording process in game?

rgr ...  i did the rec on my win 98 pc at home (the fast one) and i dont know if that makes a diff ... being saved in a fat 32 format or not  .. my buddy in AU cant play any of my films either on his win xp pc  (weve had this problem for several months now)

I think they need to work over the film viewer ..

Yeah to be perfectly honest with you, the film viewer... To say it as nice as I can here, is the move horrible thing to work with. But its the only thing we have.

It is extremely limited. But it also records a TON of data. So in that respect it is a very nice program. There are certain things I asked HT to improve on with the film viewer. I posted on these things in the films and screen shots forum.

I know its probably the last thing on HTC's list of things to do, (Understandably so) but maybe now they can get an updated film viewer in the works.

Also, I can't do anymore movie making until this problem is fixed! :(

But that may be a positive thing for you guys! :o

Morph out.

exactly the same conclusion as you Roo.

only crashes when hit spirites on another plane try to load.

without fail.
