hard system lock using update

I loaded the upgrade patch to go from 2.06 to 2.02 patch1. When I attempted to go online, the Mindy map loaded, then I got a system lock and had to hit the reset button.

After rebooting, I again tried to go online to the MA, but keep getting system lock at "Loading Pre Cache". This also happens when trying to start the game up offline.

It looks like the updater is a bit buggy.

I downloaded the full version of 2.02 patch1 and removed the buggy old updated version from the add/remove control panel. After installing the full installation, everything works fine. All of my old settings were there too.
